Located in Pancras Square, in the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter, AstraZeneca UK’s commercial head office is responsible for marketing our medicines in the UK. Previously based in Luton, the AstraZeneca UK head office is co-located with the global corporate office and brings with it a diverse and extensive pool of expertise and expanding opportunities for our local community.
The AstraZeneca UK head office moved to London in 2022, bringing us closer to partners, researchers, innovators, and decision makers across the life sciences ecosystem. This new home in Pancras Square allows our strategic collaborations to thrive, driving greater innovation that can transform the lives of patients and tackle core challenges facing the NHS.
More than 200 employees in fields such as data, medical education, analytics, corporate affairs, and omnichannel marketing are based in our London office. Being located in the vibrant Knowledge Quarter, one of the leading clusters of knowledge-based businesses and science organisations anywhere in the world, also supports an environment that nurtures existing skills as well as attracting new and diverse talent, creating a uniquely rich ground for stimulating the creativity, innovation, and technology progress essential to advancing the UK’s healthcare ecosystem.

Located in the Liverpool City Region, Speke manufactures an influenza vaccine in partnership with its sister site located in Philadelphia, USA. Around 400 employees comprised of scientists, manufacturing associates, engineers, quality professionals and support personnel form an integral part of AstraZeneca’s new Vaccine & Immune Therapy Area. It is the second largest Biologics site within the network, and a centre of excellence for testing and certification of medicines – supporting a further three additional commercial medicines.
Speke is embarking on new and exciting ways to maximise learning and development, by advancing research, driving continuous improvement, and embracing digital by introducing collaborative robots and automation to our processes.
Speke also focuses on community outreach supporting local charities where the biggest impact can be made, as well as fundraising, social events, and engaging children and young adults in STEM subjects.

Our site in Liverpool will play a critical role in delivering the Vaccine and Immunology Therapy Area’s future ambition. It’s unique in that it employs expertise from research scientists manufacturing, testing and releasing flu vaccination. Scientific excellence, agility and reliability in the vaccine space is needed now more than ever, and I’m proud that the site can provide great expertise in this area.
